HACC Art Students Benefit from Expanded Partnership with PCA&D

HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, and the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D) recently signed an expanded articulation agreement that gives additional HACC students a seamless pathway to a bachelor’s degree at PCA&D.

HACC President and CEO John J. “Ski” Sygielski, MBA, Ed.D., and PCA&D President Michael Molla, M.Ed., were joined by representatives of both institutions during a signing event on April 5, 2022, on HACC’s Harrisburg Campus.

“HACC is proud to expand our partnership with the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, a leading art school in the region. Graduates of HACC’s Art, Graphic Design and Interactive Design, and Photography programs now will have the opportunity to seamlessly transfer into a bachelor’s degree program of renown,” said Sygielski.

“As we think about creating more nontraditional pathways of educational opportunities for students, we are excited to deepen our partnership with HACC to better equip our graduates for their creative futures,” said Molla.

Application fees and portfolio requirements are waived for HACC students applying for admission to PCA&D. In addition, eligible HACC graduates with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible for a $2,000 PCA&D Partnership Scholarship, renewable for one year.

To qualify, eligible HACC students must graduate with an overall 2.5 cumulative GPA; 3.0 average in studio classes.

The articulation agreement follows a renewed and expanded articulation agreement signed in 2019 that provided graduates from HACC’s Graphic and Interactive Design, and Photography programs seamless transfer to PCA&D in Lancaster.
